Summer Holidays Campsite in Pembrokeshire: 5 Reasons why Eco-Escape Campsite is Ideal for Families

1. Ideal location for exploring the best beaches, the most popular activity centres and some superb restaurants

When it comes to our own holidays, we have always picked places with lots to see nearby. After all, there is nothing worse than getting to your base and realising on day 2 that you have already seen and done most of what the area offers. Rest assured – you will NEVER experience that if you stay with us. Our location is hands down one of the best for exploring Pembrokeshire from. Sure, you may have thought you wanted to stay in Tenby, but it won’t be long before you realise that actually you get the best of both worlds when you stay with us. That is because not only can you take an easy 25 min car ride to Tenby if you wanted to, but you can also reach the North of the county – the famous St Davids within a half hour drive too. Out West, you can reach Dale and Marloes in under half an hour, and you can also pretty much get to every single activity centre worth spending a trip to, within a half hour drive. To put it plainly, you can easily visit all 52 of Pembrokeshire’s finest beaches and coves, take part in any of the activities run by the adventure companies here and whet your appetite at some of the County’s best restaurants and cafes, from our site. That means you won’t spend most of your time in the car, you will never get bored of things to do and you won’t be disappointed if you arrive somewhere and they are already full, because there will be somewhere else nearby worth visiting instead.

2. Family activities on-site

That’s not to say you have to spend every waking moment exploring the County. We actually sell mini kid’s activity packs (to keep the little ones occupied for a while), we provide a range of family fun games to do and space to play in (e.g. rounders, giant field dominoes, giant jenga and even welly-wanging) and we have a hand-made tree swing on-site. This year we are also offering woodland safari’s on our 4x4, and we have partnered with a local bushcraft and foraging provider who offers both on-site and off-site activities (numbers permitting – to be booked in advance of your stay).

3. Dog-friendly and kid-friendly woodland trails, an inlet of the tidal estuary and oodles of space

In case that isn’t enough to keep your kids occupied and your dog interested, just 100m or so from your tents you will find an inlet of the tidal estuary which the kids can paddle around and look for crabs in, and some pretty woodland trails teeming with wildlife that are perfect for early morning and late evening strolls.

4. Great facilities

We pride ourselves on having some of the nicest facilities around. We provide picnic benches and firepit/grills at each pitch, our deluxe ones have hammocks and shelters too, our toilet and shower cabins are rustic individual cabins (a far cry from the nasty cold concrete blocks you typically find on campsites), and yes they are also flushing loos, and hot showers (with not a single token in sight). We provide hot water for washing up as well, and have a communal kitchen shelter in our woodland with a giant table for dining at in case the weather turns. We make it easy to recycle, we offer solar phone charging and freezer packs at no extra charge and our pitches are well spaced too!

5. Close to amenities – town, cafes, walkable pub

We have a village pub serving hearty pub grub just one mile up the country lane, and you can also traverse the edge of the Estuary and walk a couple of miles into our closest town, where you will find a supermarket, post office, Dr surgery, pharmacy and ample delightful cafes and restaurants on the Marina front.
